Selling at Auctions @ Number 1

Notes for Vendors

Pre Sale Valuation

We offer an 'Open Valuation Day' which is every Friday between 10 am and 2 pm.  If you are unable to attending during this time then we can arrange Valuations by appointment.   If you have a number of items or wish to sell the contents of a house, please contact us to make an appointment for a home visit.

Setting a Reserve Price

We are happy to agree a 'fixed reserve' price below which price we will not sell, but this should be made clear on instruction that you wish to have a 'fixed reserve' and if this is not agreed then our Resident Auctioneer will used his discretion.

Pre Sale Notification

Please ensure that you provide an email address, which you monitor regularly, and you will then be included in our advisory email that the Catalogue has gone live.  You can then view the same and if there is anything you wish to alter or amend you should email us immediately so this can be dealt with.  You are of course welcome to come to the view or attend the auction if you so wish.

Settlement

Once payment has been received, the lots are then dispatched to the Buyer, a Vendor's Statement is then prepared and emailed to you so we can then organise payment to you.  Please note that you will not receive payment for at least 10 working days after the Auction,

Charges

The Vendor commission payable is charged per lot at a rate of 20% plus VAT.  Where there is a high value item say over £50,000.00, then agreement may be reached to reduce the amount of commission on that specific item.

We do not charge any listing fees or photographing fees.

There are normally no charges for unsold lots with agreed reserves.  However, if your insisted reserve is not met then we reserve the right to make listing fees.

Removal costs will be charged where appropriate as we do not currently have a bespoke Auction House Van to transport your items, unless they can fit into an estate car we do not undertake to collect items.

Please note that all items in transit and/or left with the Auction House are at your risk and you should ensure that these items are covered by either your own Household Contents Insurance or on their own individual insurance cover whilst off your premises and out of your control.  You will need to arrange your own insurance.  We will not be liable for any loss or damage.
